A selection of Miriam’s stunning artworks

Tulgeen Art in the Garage artist Miriam Kydd’s story is currently being featured in a collection profiling regional artists on iView. She’s one of only 6 stories in the collection from across the country, so it’s a big coup getting both Tulgeen and Bega on the map! http://iview.abc.net.au/collection/makers-and-creators

‘Miriam’s Gift’ can also be viewed in Short Films on the Tulgeen website.

Tulgeen Stall at Pambula Markets

Last Sunday, Tulgeen ran a stall at the Pambula markets. Corni and Taylor helped out for the day. Up for sale were scarves, bonsai trees and calendars made with the help of a grant from Grand Pacific Health.

Sales were excellent, thanks to everyone that dropped by on the day. An especially big thank you to Corni and Taylor for their hard work!

Tulgeen welcomes new Director Peter Hughes

ph

Peter Hughes is the latest addition to the Tulgeen Board of Directors.  Peter has lived in the local region for many years.  Peter has had a long professional history in the job creation and job services sector, regional development and as a small business owner. On the employment services front he was formerly Regional Trainer for CES Illawarra and South Coast, Manager for the Bega branch of the Commonwealth Employment Services and Manager of Employment National in the ACT.

Regional development roles have included time at Bombala Shire Council as Economic Development Manager and as Project Mnaager for the South East NSW Area Consultative Committee.  However, in the local area, he’s probably best known as the former owner of Candelo Post Office.

Tulgeen welcomes Peter to his new position on the Board and looks forward to his inputs and ideas, particularly in the development of Tulgeen’s Social and Disability Enterprises.

Friday Feel Good

GH e-size

Here’s an artwork from the Art in the Garage archives to put a smile on everyone’s face in time for the weekend as well as being a fitting tribute for 1 April.  Two People in a Cadillac in the Bush  is a pastel and pencil drawing by Graham Henkel, one of Art in the Garage’s most collectable artists.
